We provide psychological testing to assess for diagnostic and treatment-related factors that can interfere with both medical and psychological treatment. This testing allows us and our referral sources (e.g., physicians, chiropractors, and lawyers) to provide more comprehensive patient care by identifying:
- A patient’s coping strengths and weaknesses
- Psychological trauma stemming from an accident or injury
- A patient’s appropriateness for surgery (e.g., spinal cord implant)
- A patient’s propensity toward medication (e.g., opioid) abuse
- Psychological factors that may interfere with medical treatment
- Psychological factors that can exacerbate a physical pain condition
With the patient’s written authorization, we will conduct the assessment and provide the referral source with a written report that answers the referral question.
